Dadajan Pay, a multinational technology company, has a huge advantage for nonentities like me: it doesn't yet charge the '
platform fee' which was recently imposed as one more unnecessarily taxing/extracting money from nonentities like me! Yes! All other Pays like Dagger Pay
, Taser Pay, Knife Pay Fork Pay or whatever are already charging platform fees for all bills, recharges and all! No doubt, Dadajan Pay of the veteran company that boasts of an 'online marketplace for anything' is only trying to compete better with the numerous technology giants that have joined the Pay business, after the introduction and immediate popularity of the
UPI system in India. Apart from the no-platform fee Dadajan Pay also offers a variety of
Scratch Card Rewards including instant cashback rewards. Therefore, I prefer to make bills/recharges payments on Dadajan Pay. Make hay while the sun shines!
Accordingly on that day I paid for my mobile bill using the Dadajan Pay UPI. I was ecstatic as I found the additional reward of 'win cashback up to 10 rupees' still in force! In fact, I saw the flicker of the sticker immediately after the payment was made and the bank confirmed. However, I couldn't scratch the two-rupee win card, because the payment, for some unknown reason, was shown to be pending with no confirmation coming from the telecom company. And then, the scratch card disappeared!

It remained pending for the next few hours and the cashback scratch card got replaced by a general offer with no cash elements! As I checked hours later I found the order labelled 'cancelled' which I found unusual, for normally they wait at least a day for the receiving company to confirm the payment. Anyway, then I checked my bank balance! Finding the refund already made, I ordered the payment again, and like on most earlier occasions the telecom company confirmed the payment immediately. Payment Successful! However, the rather unique episode forced me to introspect!
After an AI-like deep-dive thinking I was more or less sure what happened. In all likelihood, the moment I made the first payment and the scratch card ticker appeared on screen the offer must've expired and the company couldn't afford the luxury of paying a nonentity like me, even though to the extent of only two rupees! So, Dadajan Pay didn't send the payment to the telecom company and eventually cancelled it!
I'm not piqued by losing out on two rupees! In fact, all the time I've been rather pained by the miserly ways of the giant that promises cashback up to 10 or 100 bucks and invariably pays only two bucks whether you make a payment of 20 bucks or 20 thousand bucks! Actually, I'm piqued by the platform fee that I find particularly unjust for all the nonentities like me! But anyhow, the plethora of rewards still abound in all the Pays. Hurray!
